Mohammed Hammad is an Egyptian writer and director renowned for his compelling storytelling and distinct cinematic vision. A graduate of Helwan University with a degree in mass communication, Hammad began his filmmaking journey with the short film THE FIFTH POUND in 2006.
His body of work spans short films, documentaries, and feature films, with notable projects such as CENTRAL, PALE RED, ABDU FANOUS, and his feature debut, WITHERED GREEN.
His last film received significant international attention, screening at prestigious festivals like the Locarno Film Festival, where it earned multiple nominations, including the Golden Leopard.
WITHERED GREEN garnered further recognition, winning prestigious awards like the Muhr Award for Best Director at the Dubai International Film Festival, the Golden Palm Award at the First Youth Film Festival, and Best Director for First Work at the Cairo National Film Festival.
