Amani Jaafer is a Tunisian filmmaker based in Stockholm, with a PhD from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, where she pursued an academic career in engineering and data science.
Alongside her scientific work, she developed a strong passion for filmmaking and screenwriting, attending workshops and receiving mentorship from professionals in the film industry, including training at Stockholm Film School.
In 2022, she made her directorial debut with JE TE FERAI UN FILM, which was selected for more than 30 film festivals worldwide. Shortly after, she created her second short film, A LULLABY UNLIKE ANY OTHER, an unscripted and improvised experimental work made with almost no budget in response to the early days of the 2023 Gaza war. Her project A CURIOUS BOY was selected for the Short Script Lab at the Doha Film Institute.
In 2025, she founded Aleph Ateljé, a Sweden-based film production company, where she writes, directs, and produces her work.
Her third short film, WE ARE ENTITLED TO LOVE AUTUMN, continues to explore the ongoing struggle of humans in Palestine. Amani is currently preparing her first fiction feature film.
In addition to her filmmaking career, she works as a tech consultant.
